My sisters and I, and Isabelle, were up at 7:30 A.M. We ate our cereal, fed Isabelle, and played a bit in the morning. Then, it was off to the Wynn! With our big double stroller, we got many looks from people inside the hotel. The Wynn has a "no stroller" policy. Alex somehow got the guy at the door to let us in with our bright red double stroller. We walked around a bit before brunch. A lot of the hotels are decorated for Chinese New Year (it's the year of the dragon), so we checked it out.
We had brunch/lunch at the Wynn buffet... AH-MA-ZING!!!!! We sampled the prime rib, huge slabs of bacon sliced to order, strawberries with creme fraiche, eggs benedict, sweet pea and truffle oil risotto, cinnamon french toast, pork sliders with cheddar and jalapeno cornbread, veggie spring rolls, cornflake crusted fried chicken, the best salami I've ever had (I love a good charcuterie!!), Isabelle stole my pain au chocolate... at least it looked like she enjoyed it! Then dessert! We tried a bit of everything- candy apples, gelato, mini cupcakes, rocky road mousse, cream puffs. Isabelle loved eating her "pink ice cream." First, she asked for the "brown ice cream and not the white ice cream." Child already knows that chocolate tastes yummier than vanilla... I don't know how she learned that? We convinced her to eat the pink ice cream and she was giddy!
After our long and filling brunch, both babies needed a nap, so we headed back to the hotel. Sleeping babies are so peaceful. It's ironic because sometimes when the babies are up, I'm thinking, it'd be nice to have some peace and quiet. But when the babies are sleeping, I have this urge to want to wake them up and play with them because they look so adorable.
When Isabelle woke up from her nap, she had some playtime with Uncle James and Wahjoo and colored with them. Isaiah played with Appa when he woke up from his nap.
We all walked around the Palazzo and the Venetian to do some sight-seeing. Isabelle was intrigued by those people who pose as statues. She was confused by one who winked at her when she placed some money down to tip him. I think she wasn't sure if it was real or pretend. But the thing she was most fascinated by? The gondolas inside the Venetian. She could stare at those all day long.
So far, on this trip, I wondered who had the most fun? I think it's a tie between Wahjoo and Isabelle! :)
